Human Resources

Human Resources provides personnel services for legislators and staff and DLS employees. Key responsibilities encompass recruitment and training initiatives, including anti‑harassment education and orientation programs; coordination of health and retirement benefits; processing of employee records, payroll, and associated functions; support for professional development; and the provision of accommodations for both employees and job applicants.

This unit also coordinates MGA’s page and intern programs that provide opportunities for Maryland high school and college students to participate in the work of the legislature. The Human Resources Director has further supervision of the department’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer.
