Welcome

The Library and Information Services unit provides reference and research assistance to members of the General Assembly, their staff, and the public. We also conduct guided tours and educational programs for visiting groups from schools and other organizations. The DLS Library collection of over 140,000 items ranges from journals of floor proceedings to committee bill files and recordings of committee meetings. We also have an extensive collection of reports and other publications generated by DLS and other State agencies. 

The Department of Legislative Services Library is pleased to welcome you to our library space in the new Department of Legislative Services Building.  If you are in need of Information Desk services, please visit us on the Ground Floor of the new building.  If in need of reference and research assistance, please visit the reference librarians and the DLS Library Collection in the basement of the new building.  We will be happy to help you during our regular business hours, from 8 am-5 pm, with extended hours for legislative business as needed.  We can also be reached by e-mail at libr@mlis.state.md.us or by phone at 410-946-5400, monitored during our regular business hours.
