Mandated Reports

Section 2-1257 of the State Government Article of the Annotated Code of Maryland relates to the distribution of publications submitted to the General Assembly and its committees, staff agencies, and employees. When a report is required to the to be submitted to the MGA or DLS by legislation, statute, COMAR or Executive Order it is deemed a Mandated Report.

The mandated reports specialist is responsible for identifying, tracking and working with agencies to comply with their reporting mandates.

Once received, documents are cataloged to serve as the official submissions, and preserved for historical purposes.  Electronic submissions are used for ease of access for online users and are authenticated as an exact representation of what is on the library’s shelves.  These materials can be found in the Online Library Catalog, which indicates the physical location of the document by call number as well as an electronic access point for digital users.  Mandated reports can include, but are not limited to, Task Force Reports, Committee Reports, Commission reports and annual or special reports by state agencies
