Summary

The average number of days to completion in the circuit courts for cases meeting the processing standard has fluctuated depending upon the case type, however, the average number of days to completion for beyond standard cases increased for the Juvenile Delinquency, CINA‑Shelter, CINA‑Nonshelter and CINA‑TPR categories. While the increases in beyond standard cases were modest for the Juvenile Delinquency, CINA‑Shelter, and CINA‑TPR categories, the increase in beyond standard cases for the CINA‑Nonshelter category was more substantial. During the period, the Judiciary created a separate category and established a different completion standard for Limited Divorce cases. The reduction in cases beyond standard when comparing Domestic Relations to Family Law cases reflects this revision. The Judiciary separated Foreclosure cases from the Civil category and began tracking Foreclosure case processing times in fiscal 2016. Those Foreclosure cases meeting the processing standard were completed, on average, within 348 days. Those Foreclosure cases processed beyond the standard of 730 days were completed, on average within 962 days. The case types of Criminal, Civil, and Family Law had reductions in the number of cases that were processed beyond the standard.
